The thrust self-aligning roller bearing is roughly the same as the self-aligning roller bearing. The raceway surface of the race is a spherical surface centered on the point consistent with the central shaft of the bearing. This kind of bearing roller is spherical. Therefore, it has the function of automatic self-aligning and is not very sensitive to coaxiality and shaft deflection.

These bearings are mainly used in oil drilling rigs, iron and steel machinery, hydraulic generators, vertical motors, marine propeller shafts, tower cranes, extruders, etc.

Spherical roller thrust bearings accommodate very heavy axial and considerable radial loads. They have the highest load rating of all thrust bearings, enabling compact, high power density bearing arrangements.
